Rental Terms

Overview

These Rental Terms apply to all decor, props, signage, backdrops, letters, and related items ("Rental Items") provided by 80's Obsession Company. By confirming a rental quote or paying a deposit, you agree to these terms.

Rental Period

  • The rental period begins at **delivery or client pickup** and ends at **agreed return time**.
  • Standard rental period is **up to 3 days** (delivery day through pickup day) unless your quote specifies otherwise.
  • Late returns are billed at **150% of the daily rental rate** per item, per day.

    Security Deposits

  • A **refundable security deposit** may be required based on the value and quantity of items rented.
  • Deposits are held until all items are returned, inspected, and accounted for.
  • Deposits are refunded within **7–10 business days** after return, minus any applicable damage or replacement fees.

    Client Responsibilities

    You agree to:

  • Use Rental Items for their intended decorative purpose only
  • Keep items in a secure, dry, indoor (or covered outdoor) location as agreed
  • Prevent damage from weather, pets, children, smoking, open flames, or improper handling
  • Not alter, paint, drill, or permanently attach items without written approval
  • Return all items in the same condition as received, including components, bases, and packaging

    Delivery, Setup & Pickup

  • **Delivery & setup fees** are quoted separately and based on location, access, and labor required.
  • Client must ensure **clear access** to the setup area (stairs, elevators, parking, load-in times).
  • If our team cannot access the venue at the scheduled time due to client delay, additional fees may apply.
  • **Client pickup/return:** Items must be picked up and returned at agreed times. A late fee applies if items are not returned on schedule.

    Damage, Loss & Replacement

  • Client is responsible for the **full replacement value** of any lost, stolen, or damaged Rental Items.
  • Normal wear from careful event use is expected; **excessive damage** (stains, breaks, missing pieces, water damage) will be charged at repair or replacement cost.
  • Damage assessments are documented with photos and communicated within **5 business days** of return.
  • Damage charges may be deducted from the security deposit; amounts exceeding the deposit will be invoiced separately.

    Prohibited Uses

    Rental Items may not be used:

  • Outdoors in rain or high wind without prior approval and proper anchoring
  • Near open flames, fireworks, or heat sources without approval
  • As structural supports for people or heavy equipment
  • In any manner that violates venue rules or local regulations

    Inventory & Substitutions

  • All rentals are subject to **availability**. Items in your quote are reserved upon deposit receipt.
  • If an item becomes unavailable, we will offer a comparable substitute or credit — never a downgrade without your approval.

    Service Area

    We are based in **Torrance, CA** and serve the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area. Events outside our standard service zone may incur additional travel and delivery fees — contact us for a quote.

    Liability

  • 80's Obsession Company is not liable for injury or property damage arising from misuse of Rental Items.
  • Client assumes responsibility for the condition and security of items from delivery/pickup until return.
